During his trip to Qatar, the Polish President, Andrzej Duda, discussed potential business opportunities for the local community in utilizing Poland's capabilities to reconstruct post-war Ukraine.

Ukrinform reports that he stated this at a media briefing in Doha, Qatar's capital.

"Today, our partners from the Qatar Investment Authority and I talked about the situation in Ukraine. I presented them with the realities in Central Europe, told them in detail about the cooperation within the Three Seas and who is the partner of this cooperation, as well as the prospects that Poland provides in the context investments in Ukraine", emphasized the Polish leader.

Duda mentioned that he had discussions with politicians and businesses from Qatar regarding:

  • The state of infrastructure in Poland;
  • The various opportunities in his country;
  • The relations between Warsaw and Kyiv;
  • The Polish perspective on the future of Ukraine and preparedness for action;
  • Plans for reconstruction in Ukraine following the damage from the war.

The President of the Republic of Poland added, "Poland has become a highly desirable partner for those considering involvement in the future reconstruction and rebuilding of Ukraine."

Duda also informed that the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, will pay an official visit to Warsaw in July.

For reference:

It should be noted that during its presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2025, Poland should focus on deepening the European Union's contacts with the United States of America, the European integration of Ukraine and Moldova, and the reconstruction of Ukraine.

In addition, the Polish president expressed confidence that Ukraine, thanks to his country's efforts and help, will be able to protect its sovereignty and independence and will be a reliable partner of Poland in the future.

Also, the Polish government will create a Council on Cooperation with Ukraine, including representatives of science, business, government, and local self-government.

It is worth adding that the needs for the reconstruction of Ukraine already amount to almost 486 billion dollars. These are the results of the third damage and needs assessment (RDNA3), which the Ukrainian government conducted jointly with the World Bank.
