Britain imposes new sanctions on Russia
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has announced the introduction of a new package of sanctions against Russia for recognizing the "independence" of the ORDLO.
He stated this during a speech in parliament, EP reports.
Johnson said five Russian banks had been sanctioned: Rossiya Bank, Promsvyazbank; Genbank; Black Sea Development and Reconstruction Bank; Industrial Savings Bank.
Sanctions have also been imposed on Gennady Timchenko and the Rotenberg brothers, oligarchs close to the Russian president. Any assets they have in Britain will be frozen and individuals will be barred from entering the country.
According to him, this is the first stage of sanctions and there will be the next if Putin goes further.
Johnson warned that it was necessary to prepare for Russia's next step after it "blatantly violated" peace agreements last night.
According to him, Putin's order on alleged "peacekeeping" troops in the occupied territories "means a renewed invasion of this country."
"Russia is now setting the stage for a full-scale offensive," he said.
