Russian dictator proposes UN-backed temporary government in Ukraine for elections

On March 27, Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin proposed introducing an interim administration in Ukraine under the auspices of the UN. During this time, presidential elections would be held, and then a peace agreement would be concluded.

Propaganda outlets TASS and RIA Novosti quoted the Russian leader during his visit to the nuclear submarine cruiser Arkhangelsk.

According to him, this is just one of the proposals that he made to the United States, European countries, and Russian "partners and friends."

Putin claims that interim administrations under the auspices of the UN have already been established in other countries, particularly in the former Yugoslavia, so this, they say, can be done in Ukraine.

"For what? To hold democratic elections and bring a capable government with the people's trust to power.

And then start peace talks with them, sign legitimate documents that will be recognized worldwide," he said.

In addition, he mentioned the BRICS countries and the DPRK as partners with whom Russia is ready to work on the "Ukrainian settlement." Russia is also allegedly ready to work with Europe.

"But they are trying to lead by the nose," the Kremlin leader believes.

The Kremlin leader also stated that the "Nazis" allegedly have significant influence in Ukraine, and, in particular, mentioned the Azov brigade, which "is acquiring de facto power in Ukraine."

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Kyiv does not consider the UN an alternative to a foreign contingent or security guarantees because, according to him, this organization will not be able to protect Ukraine from a possible repeated Russian invasion.

Against Putin's statements about foreign management, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's communications adviser, Dmytro Lytvyn, advised the Russian leader to "just pop some pills to kickstart his brain activity."

"If Putin is once again struggling to understand who he needs to engage with to seriously move toward ending this war, maybe he should just pop some pills to kickstart his brain activity – assuming such pills still have any effect on him," Lytvyn said.

He added that in the past 24 hours alone, there have been at least two confirmed Russian strikes that have damaged Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

"That's without even having the full reports for the day yet. And preventing further attacks like these – that's something our partners are responsible for ensuring," Lytvyn said.

An unnamed White House National Security Council official, responding to reporters' questions about Putin's proposals, said that governance in Ukraine is determined by its Constitution and its people, according to Reuters.

Trump later made a harsh statement about Zelensky, calling him a "dictator without elections."
