The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artiukh, and the city's acting mayor, Artem Kobzar, reported this.
The attack damaged a high-rise building and a school. According to Artiukh, all the children were in shelters at the time of the strike.
"A missile strike targeted the city center, damaging several high-rise buildings and a school. The children in a protective structure are being evacuated and are all alive," Artiukh said.

According to him, rescue services are working on eliminating the consequences and extinguishing fires. House-to-house rounds are also being conducted to assist the injured.
"We are conducting a round-up of high-rise buildings to assist the injured," Artiukh stressed.
Headquarters will be deployed in kindergartens No. 10 and No. 25 to assist the victims.

According to the regional military administration, on the night of March 24 and in the morning, the occupiers shelled the border territories and settlements of the Sumy region 11 times. Nineteen explosions were recorded.
