Ukraine joins Riga’s Christmas Bazaar to support charity causes

The International Women's Club of Riga organized the 26th Annual Charity Christmas Bazaar in Latvia's capital. The event brought together the local community, visitors, and representatives from foreign embassies who shared the goal of supporting charitable causes.

The Ukrainian Embassy, in collaboration with the Ukrainian House in Latvia, showcased Ukrainian culture at this lively event. The Ukrainian booth served as a hub of warmth, delectable cuisine, and rich traditions, drawing in attendees' interest.

What could one find at the Ukrainian booth?

• Souvenirs and goods from Ukraine that embody the warmth of Ukrainian culture.
• Authentic dishes prepared by Ukrainian chef Tetiana from the "Nezlamni" association. Her cooking is helping Ukrainian cuisine gain popularity among Latvians.

A particular highlight of the fair was the performances of Ukrainian artists:

• The audience was captivated by the Ukrainian folk dance performed by Inna Bilousenko from the "Ukrainian House in Latvia."
• Everyone present plunged into the Christmas atmosphere when children from the Art Laboratory performed the legendary "Shchedryk."

This year's fair focused on supporting various charitable causes, particularly aiding children from Ukraine.

As Christmas and New Year's draw near, the Ukrainian brand "Yavereta" has released a philanthropic line of patches and socks called "Holidays in Antarctica." The collection, in collaboration with the National Antarctic Science Center of Ukraine, aims to support Ukrainian polar explorers who are also defending their country as part of the armed forces. 30% of the proceeds from these products will go towards this cause.

To kick off the holiday season, UAnimals launched a new virtual store called "I Really Wanted It," where individuals can make impulsive purchases. The store offers virtual items that may seem desirable at first, but end up unused. However, the funds from these "purchases" will actually go towards saving the lives of animals.
