Ukraine’s armed forces successfully breach another section of border into Russia’s Kursk region

The 95th Separate Polissia Assault Brigade of Ukraine's armed forces successfully breached a section of the Russian border in the Kursk region.

The Airborne Assault Forces announced this.

They said this was the second successful operation to breach the Russian border since the operation began in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

The military also demonstrated a new border advancement. The widely shared video captured the construction of passageways in engineering barriers, the entry of airborne assault units into Russian territory, and the initial clashes in the border area.

It should be noted that the Institute for the Study of War earlier reported that the Ukrainian military had probably launched an offensive on Russia's Kursk Region in a new area. Foreign media reports that these offensive actions were more successful than initially expected.

Journalists claimed this operation was a "smaller scale repetition" of the previous Ukrainian invasion of the Kursk region and had "much more success" than first appeared.

Ukrainian forces achieved a significant morale boost with a tactical victory on August 6, taking control of approximately 1,200 sq. km of Russian land, capturing 594 enemy soldiers, and securing over 100 settlements in a surprise attack. This operation has restored confidence in Ukraine's offensive capabilities and has reshaped the perception of the ongoing war.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian military captured hundreds of Russian soldiers in the Kursk region. Thus, on August 15, the Russian company opted to surrender as their military leaders abandoned them.

Furthermore, on September 14, the Ukrainian army made further progress in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region. Their movement was observed in the fields south of Tyotkino and north of Sudzha. The soldiers were able to secure control of several villages.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine would keep Russian territory, as this was an integral part of the plan to win the war.

In September, Russian soldiers initiated a counterattack that could potentially lead to their encirclement and defeat. On September 13, President Zelensky noted that the Russian troops had begun swift offensive maneuvers, though unsuccessful.

Right now, because Ukrainian military activities have shifted to the Kursk region, Russia is currently carrying out more shelling on its own territory than on the Sumy region.
