Russia launches 21,000 shells at Ukraine in a single week

According to Andriy Kovalev, the General Staff's spokesperson for Ukraine, the Russian army has conducted 21,000 shellings and 431 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory in the past week.

He told about this on the "Edyni Novyny" marathon broadcast.

"The Russian invaders carried out 21,000 shellings, in particular, about 733 shellings with the use of rocket salvo systems," he said.

Kovalev also informed that during the past week, the Russians have inflicted:

• 15 missile strikes,
• 431 air strikes, in particular, using 367 guided air bombs.

At the same time, the Russian army lost 8,723 soldiers last week.

"Last week, the enemy suffered significant losses, including 8,723 Russian soldiers, 104 tanks, 151 armored vehicles, 360 artillery vehicles, 15 air defense systems, 283 operational-tactical drones, nine cruise missiles, 470 vehicles, 58 pieces of special equipment, and one Russian naval vessel," he said.

Kovalev added that the forces and means of air defense of Ukraine destroyed:

• 96 enemy attack drones of the Shahed-136 and Shahed-131 type,
• 67 unmanned aerial vehicles of the "Lancet" type,
• 5 Kh-101 cruise missiles,
• 2 Iskander ballistic missiles.

"For a week, the aviation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and units of the missile forces and artillery struck 94 areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of the Russian occupiers, five control points, six artillery systems, four electronic warfare stations, seven radar complexes, 15 means of anti-aircraft defense, five ground control stations of unmanned aerial vehicles, two bases and warehouses of fuel and lubricants, four ammunition warehouses and three other important objects of the enemy," the spokesman informed.

In general, over 700 clashes took place at the front during the past week. Kovalev clarified that:

• On the Kharkiv front, the Russian military carried out 35 attacks during the past week in the areas of Hlyboke, Liptsi, Starytsa, and Vovchansk settlements of the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian defense forces stopped the enemy's offensive.
• Last week, the Russian invaders launched offensive operations in the Kupiansk front, targeting the settlements of Senkivka, Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Druzheliubivka, Ivanivka, and areas north-east of Druzheliubivka in the Kharkiv region, as well as Miasozharivka and Andriivka points in the Luhansk region. Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled 73 enemy attacks in this direction over the past week.
• Last week, on the Lyman front, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 37 attacks by the Russian army in the areas of Serebrianske forestry in the Luhansk region, as well as Terny and Torske in the Donetsk region.
• Last week, on the Siversk front, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 63 attacks in Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, Verkhnyokamianske, Mykolaivka, Vyimka, Spirne, Rozdolivka, Donetsk region.
• On the Kramatorsk front, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 58 attacks in the Chasiv Yar, Kalynivka, Novy, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka settlements of the Donetsk region.
• On the Toretsk front, the Russian invaders made one unsuccessful attempt to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian troops in the Kurdiumivka area of ​​the Donetsk region.
• On the Pokrovsk front, during the week, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 252 Russian attacks in the Kalynove, Yevhenivka, Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Umanske, Novoselivka Persha, Solovyove, Prohres, Nevelske, Yasnobrodivka, and Netaylove settlements of the Donetsk region.
• On the Kurakhiv front, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the advance of the Russian invaders in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, and Kostiantynivka. Last week, the enemy tried to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops 78 times.
• On the Vremivsk front, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 34 attacks in the areas of Urozhaine and Staromayorske settlements of the Donetsk region.
• Last week, on the Orykhiv front, the Russian military attacked the positions of Ukrainian soldiers 40 times in the area of ​​Robotyne, Novodanilivka, and northwest of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region.
• Last week, the Russians attempted to eliminate the Ukrainian units from their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River on the Dnipro front.
• During the past week, the Russian invaders carried out 26 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the area of ​​the settlement of Krynky, Kherson region.

According to Rubryka's report, the latest figures show that the total number of Russian troops lost in Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to June 10, 2024, is approximately 519,750, with an additional 1,190 casualties on the last day.

Moreover, the June 8 attack on the Akhtubinsk airfield in the Astrakhan region may have caused damage to not only one but two Russian Su–57 fighter jets.
