Kharkiv underground school holds trial classes

A trial day was held in Kharkiv's first underground school, and starting next Monday, May 13, 620 children will start studying there.

What is the problem?

Russian troops are shelling the Kharkiv region daily. Border settlements or those near the front line are most likely to be hit by the enemy. The regional center itself suffers from Russian attacks.

The enemy targets civilian homes, schools, hospitals, and shopping centers.

In order for the children to be able to study, at the beginning of September in the city of Kharkiv, equipped classrooms for schoolchildren were presented in the subway.

However, no matter how well-equipped, it is not the most comfortable place for children to study.

What is the solution?

Therefore, the construction of the first underground school began, the opening of which was planned for spring.

So on May 11, Kharkiv held a trial school day in the city's first underground school, and starting next Monday, May 13, 620 children will start studying there.

How does it work?

Terekhov said that the recruitment of students for the new academic year is currently underway.

The head of the city also expressed the hope that by this time, the city authorities will have time to build at least three more underground schools in other areas of the city because the number of people willing to study face-to-face already significantly exceeds the number of available spots.

Rescuers and psychologists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine also joined the first day of studying at the Kharkiv underground school.

They taught the students about mine safety rules and taught them to recognize dangerous objects and areas. The emergency workers also talked to the children about fire safety.

At the same time, with the help of play therapy, the State Emergency Service's psychologists helped the students establish new social contacts.

We remind you that in April, the first underground school in Ukraine was constructed in Kharkiv. The premises in the city's Industrial district were built according to the highest safety standards. It has 20 classrooms and is designed for 900 students studying in two shifts.
