The Minister of Defense of Denmark, Troels Lund Poulsen, stated this, Nyheder reports.
What is the problem?
In modern warfare, tanks are essential in offensive operations—to break through enemy lines and reclaim territory.
When appropriately utilized, they offer mobile firing power, defense, impact, and unpredictability. With many of them, tanks can decimate the enemy's defenses.
What is the solution?
Denmark will transfer 15 modernized T-72EA tanks and 30 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine.
How does it work?
It is noted that this aid is part of the support of 5.8 billion Danish crowns (about 830 million dollars), which the country allocated to Ukraine last week.
So far, Denmark has already provided Ukraine with 11.2 billion Danish crowns (about 1.6 billion dollars).
The purpose behind transferring 15 brand new T–72EA tanks to Ukraine is that, unlike the Leopard tanks that Denmark has already provided, they would be immediately incorporated into the Ukrainian military.
At the same time, to use Leopard tanks, the Ukrainian military must undergo additional training, but this does not apply to the new T-72EA tanks. Lund Poulsen noted that these
tanks are already familiar to Ukrainians.
Leopard tanks from Denmark
Troels Lund Poulsen announced the joint transfer of 80 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine with Germany in May.
Later, it became known that the two countries would provide a hundred tanks in cooperation with the Netherlands.
On September 8, the Armed Forces of Denmark announced that the first 10 Leopard 1A5 tanks had arrived in Ukraine. The rest of the vehicles are already on the way.
It was also reported that Denmark took Leopard 1A5 tanks stored in museums to train Ukrainian fighters. The machines were in better technical condition than those in warehouses.

T-72EA tanks are the export version of the Soviet T-72M1 tank, which the Excalibur Army modernized. Ukraine is already using them on the battlefield. Its engine power was increased to 840 horsepower.
Instead of using a night vision scope that can see targets up to 1300 meters away, a new thermal content with an uncooled microbolometric sensor was installed. The scope has a small LED display built into the glasses. This upgraded scope can accurately detect targets up to 4,000 meters away and effectively engage them from up to 3,000 meters with a cannon or up to 1800 meters with a machine gun.
