Ukraine’s top security official denies Russian claim of Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhnyi’s injury

Oleksii Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security Council, reacted to the misinformation of Russian propagandists about the alleged "injury" of the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's armed forces, Valery Zaluzhnyi.

Danilov announced this on Twitter.

"The President of Ukraine, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's armed forces Volodymyr Zelensky, on 05/24/2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Headquarters listened to the reports of the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's armed forces Valery Zaluzhnyi and other members of the Headquarters," he noted.

The Secretary of the National Security Council illustrated his tweet with a winking smiley.

Prior to that, Russian propagandists began disseminating false information, attributing it to unnamed sources, which stated that Zaluzhnyi suffered a head injury and multiple shrapnel wounds resulting from a purported missile attack on a command post near the village of Posad–Pokrovske, Kherson in early May..

This is not the first attempt by propagandists of the Russian Federation to spread disinformation about the Commander-in-Chief.

On May 20, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar stated that the Russians invented a fake about the disappearance of Zaluzhnyi to demoralize defenders in Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

It should be noted that Zaluzhnyi discussed the strengthening of air defense with the Supreme Commander of the United Armed Forces of NATO in Europe, General Christopher Cavoli.
