France will help rebuild Ukraine’s railways

The French transport minister visited Ukraine and announced the supply of 25 tons of rails to reconstruct railways.

At 11 o'clock, the minister published a photo from the checkpoint on the border of Moldova and Ukraine.

The Minister of Transport visited the Odesa railway station with the French ambassador.

"In the port of Odesa, hundreds of people perform important work, transporting millions of tons of grain, fuel, and steel. France and our companies strive to ensure these vital exchanges with Ukraine," Beaune said.

The FranceInfo correspondent wrote that the minister confirmed France's intentions to supply Ukraine with 25 tons of rails to restore about 150 km of tracks damaged due to the Russian war.

"Military efforts depend on public railways. The future of the country, too. At the Odesa railway station, there is a tribute to 250,000 railway heroes who, risking their lives, support the country. Our full support: France will supply Ukraine with more than 20,000 tons of rails," Clément Beaune said.

The minister believes that a decisive place in military operations belongs to transport for the transportation of troops, grain, and humanitarian aid:

"I am in Ukraine to repeat and increase support of France, especially in infrastructure."
