Russian forces shell Ukraine’s eastern Sloviansk, killing five, injuring 15

Russian forces shelled eastern Ukraine's town of Sloviansk. Several floors of one of the high-rise buildings were destroyed.

The shelling killed five civilians and injured 15. Rescuers keep searching for people who remain under the rubble, the Donetsk regional military administration reports.

"There are people under the rubble, including a child.  The rescue operation is ongoing. We will report on its progress," the statement says.

Residents heard at least five explosions in the city. Footage of a multi-story building, in one part of which at least two floors were destroyed, went viral on local Telegram channels.

Russian forces keep striking the neighboring towns of Kramatorsk and Kostiantynivka, located near Bakhmut.

Rescue services have taken out a child under the rubble. His condition is unknown.

On the morning of April 14, local authorities reported that during the last day, the occupiers continued to shell the residential sectors of the settlements. In particular, Vugledar, Avdiivka, Bakhmut, and Kurakhove got under Russian shelling. The Russians shelled a residential sector in Avdiivka, a school in the Chasiv Yar community, and destroyed two kindergartens in Bakhmut.

The occupiers continue to focus on conducting an offensive in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariinka directions. Heavy fighting unravels for the city of Bakhmut.
