russia has abducted over 16,000 children from Ukraine since start of invasion

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the aggressor state russia has deported 16,222 children to its territory, the press service of the Ombudsman's Office reports.

Since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion, 350 children have been considered missing.

"According to the Children of War state child search portal, as of February 6, 2023, 350 children are missing, 16,222 were deported, and 9,510 are found," the statement specifies.

Also, the Prosecutor General's Office reported that as of the morning of February 6, 2023, more than 1,380 children were injured in Ukraine due to russia's full-scale armed aggression.

According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, 461 children died, and more than 919 were severely injured.

"These numbers are not final. Work is ongoing to establish them in the places of hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories," the prosecutor's office stressed.

Children were the most affected:

• in Donetsk region – 443,
• Kharkiv region – 270, 
• Kyiv region – 123,
• Kherson region – 86,
• Zaporizhzhia region – 84,
• Mykolaiv region – 83,
• Chernihiv region – 68,
• Luhansk region – 66,
• Dnipropetrovsk region – 63.

It became known that on February 2, a car caught fire in the russia-occupied city of Hola Prystan, Kherson region, due to russian artillery shelling. There were three people in it, including an 8-year-old boy. The child died.

Three thousand one hundred twenty-six educational institutions were damaged due to bombing and shelling by the russian armed forces. Three hundred thirty-seven of them were utterly destroyed.
