In Khmelnytskyi region, plastic exchange boxes installed in three schools

A pilot environmental project, "Yapomoga," has been launched in three schools of the Volochysk united territorial community.

The Khmelnytskyi regional council announced it, Rubryka reports.

"The first 'Yapomogaboxes' have been installed so far in three city schools: the educational complex, secondary schools № 1 and № 5. These innovative machines turn waste into charity," the statement said.

It is noted that by throwing away a plastic bottle, people will be able to decide where to send the virtual accumulated funds. In Volochysk, they can be transferred to help the local center for social rehabilitation of children or to build an animal shelter.

Ecological patrols have been formed in the schools where the project is being implemented, which will monitor the sorting of garbage.

According to the head of the regional council, Violeta Labaziuk, such boxes will be installed in all schools of the Volochysk community during the school year, and over time, the project will cover the entire Khmelnytskyi region.

It should be noted that last year, Yapomogaboxes were installed in eight schools in Kyiv.

During this time, more than 10 tons of plastic were disposed of there, funds were raised to help the elderly and to feed more than 1,000 animals.
