Принц Гаррі і герцогиня Сассекська Меган Маркл заявили про рішення скласти з себе королівські повноваження

Відповідну заяву оприлюднено на офіційній сторінці герцога і герцогині в Instagram.

"Ми збираємося відмовитися від звання" старших "членів в королівській родині і працювати, щоб стати фінансово незалежними, одночасно продовжуючи повністю підтримувати Її Величність Королеву", – йдеться в заяві.

Також зазначається, що вони мають намір "збалансувати" свій час між Сполученим Королівством та Північною Америкою.

"Цей географічний баланс дозволить нам ростити нашого сина з умінням цінувати королівські традиції, в яких він народився, і надасть нашій сім'ї простір, щоб сфокусуватися на наступному розділі, включаючи створення нашої нової благодійної організації", – заявляють подружжя.

Рішення, за словами Гаррі і Меган, було прийнято "після декількох місяців роздумів і обговорень".
