According to the National Cancer Registry, there are currently about 6,500 children with cancer in Ukraine. And every year, more than 1,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed in children under the age of 14; that's 10-12 patients per 100,000 children.

The following types of cancer are most often found in Ukrainian children:

  • leukemia and lymphoma, 31-45%
  • brain malignant neoplasms, 17-19%
