It's time to wake up: we're in the new Cold War
I'm only 22 years old, and I was born at a time when the Cold War had gone down in history textbooks. For me, this was another period of history, described in books, movies, stories of relatives. However, it seems that the period of relative freedom has already ended, and we will have to gradually get used to it.
Increasing tensions in the US-Russia-China triangle are forcing other states to make clear their foreign policy orientations. As practice shows, the countries that have decided to be friends with all sides of the above-mentioned triangle at once, will not have a very good fate. Ukraine already has problems in this aspect. Yes, the official foreign policy of the Ukrainian government is the Euro-Atlantic course, but some Ukrainian media and politicians still continue to deepen the division of Ukrainian society, intimidating NATO troops in your garden (although it seems like a good idea and investment in their own security). In addition, China's conditional economic success is forcing political elites to think about friendship with Beijing, and they are thus trying to have their cake and eat it. However, it should be remembered that the conditions of the Cold War don't tolerate multi-vector, and the strength of the Chinese economy is very conditional and related to the domestic policy of the state.
