Field research of Ukrainian regions
or "We should more often be where the largest part of Ukraine's population lives, outside the capital"
Local media have their unique stories that differ from the stories of national platforms. These are people with their genuine desire to influence an unjust reality. These are observations of civil society development on the ground. These are crises and tragedies that could've been avoided. Apparently, this is what has kept me in regional media management for over 10 years, the last four of which I have been working with 24 regional broadcasters of Suspilne.
Local media, among all other media, have a chance to be closest to their audiences, both physically and mentally. Even in today's world, where content production is no longer a media monopoly and every smartphone owner can produce and distribute information, local media still retain some influence and become a tool for community unification and change.
