10 staggering facts about fur farms
Only according to official estimates, nearly two thousand animals are killed in Ukraine every day for the sake of the fur. On average, up to 250 chinchillas, 100 rabbits, 90 sables, 60 martens, 45 minks, 18 foxes and dogs, or 4 wolves are killed for one coat. The vast majority of animals for fur clothing are grown on fur farms. Unfortunately, looking at the fur coat in the windows of boutiques or in the pages of magazines, you can't see how the animal was electrocuted or poisoned until its heart stopped. So what is the actual price of a fur coat? Activists of the Fur Free Retail campaign collected 10 facts about fur farms to better understand what's hidden behind the fences of fur manufactures.
