Ukrainian memes for fighting mood: war in Ukraine, farmers, and Konotop witches

Meme troops also went to war. Not to cry, we laughed. Over the past two weeks, we collected the most noteworthy things from the world of memes.

What is the problem?

Ukraine has been fighting for its independence and territorial integrity in the war with russia for two weeks-thousands of dead and millions of refugees. In such conditions, it is difficult not to lose fighting spirit and faith in a promising future. However, Ukrainians have shown themselves to be an invincible nation. They created "Ukrainian memes forces" to maintain the fighting mood.

Ukrainian memes are the solution

In many ways, the psychological support of citizens is provided through creating and sharing Ukrainian memes, which have become the latest tool of military propaganda. They gave millions of Ukrainians moments of collective joy in this deadly and terrible time.

RUBRYKA collected its top 10 Ukrainian war memes, presented by the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people.

1. russian warship, go f*ck yourself

It's the central Ukrainian war meme of this war. The phrase said by the defender of Zmiinyi Island became an unofficial slogan of the Ukrainian resistance. It even reached the international level and was heard in the American Senate. It flooded social media. It was placed on the billboards of Ukrainian cities as a message for the aggressor, and it is written on bank cards and announcements messages of telecom operators. Undoubtedly, this meme is now the embodiment of the wishes of all Ukrainians.

2. Palianytsia, Ukrzaliznytsia

In the first days of the war, there was an active battle against the russian sabotage groups. Quite often, they had Ukrainian documents and traveled under Ukrainian flags, so Ukrainians had to resort to more powerful methods of detection. And here, the Ukrainian language came in handy. For those who didn't learn Ukrainian at school or didn't live in a Ukrainian-speaking environment, it is pretty challenging to pronounce the Ukrainian vowel "y" and the suffix "tsia," which is why test words with these sounds came in handy. Moreover, the russians had difficulties even with the meaning of the word "palianytsia," which is a traditional Ukrainian bread. Many mistakenly believed that it was a "polunytsia," which means strawberry.

How do you pronounce "palianytsia"?

Say "palianytsia"!

Friends, I offer a signal phrase that blocks russian brains: Small calf was eating "palianytsia" with "polunytsia"

3. Zelensky's balls

This meme is more international than Ukrainian since the President's capabilities were known to Ukrainians even before his election to the post. However, many citizens feared he might panic in this challenging situation. But the President chose a weapon instead of a taxi, and the citizens of allied countries began to dream of the same charismatic leader. The surprise of ordinary Europeans and Americans knew no bounds when they found out that Zelensky voiced Paddington in the Ukrainian dubbing of the film and won Dancing with the Stars, not to mention the legendary piece on the piano. It quickly became clear that the comedian president is not a bug but a feature.

4. Ukrainian farmers and tractor memes

Ukrainians are a farming nation. And, as you know, absolutely anything can come in handy in the household—for example, a rocket artillery system or a tank. Ukrainian farmers on tractors have become a legend. We must admit that unlike Romani people stealing a tank, numerous videos with tractors pulling various military equipment are truly legendary.

5. Konotop witches, Ukraine

The russian invaders could occupy part of the Ukrainian territories, but no flowers were waiting for them, but curses did. Courageous Ukrainian women repeatedly told the occupiers in their eyes everything they thought about them, and sometimes they also connected otherworldly forces. Whether they work, judge for yourself.

6. Soothing speeches

In these difficult times, many Ukrainians wait for a speech from their local leaders to receive a dose of comfort. Some of the speakers are particularly interesting. In particular, we are talking about the head of the Mykolaiv region Vitalii Kim and the adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Oleksii Arestovych. Today, joys are simple. The primary thing for us is for the air raid siren to be canceled, and the russian asses get kicked.

Show me, Kim. I need a better one. Perfect

Anxiety, exhaustion, fear – New address of Vitalii Kim, Mykolaiv region governor

7. Banderomobiles

The aggressor created this meme himself. We are no longer surprised by their imagination, but sometimes they still manage to generate propaganda masterpieces. Trying to show that the resistance of the Ukrainians has almost been overcome and we have nothing left to fight for, they invented the legend that the Ukrainian army's primary weapon is cars with attached machine guns or banderomobiles [portmanteau of the 20th-century Ukrainian resistance activist's surname Bandera and automobile]. However, maybe they meant our tractor divisions.

8. Everything has left russia memes

The Allies opened a second front of resistance to russian aggression and hit russians with powerful sanctions. Corporations joined these sanctions, and now it is harder to name companies that did not limit their activities in russia in one way or another than those that did. russia has become toxic for brands, and we don't forget to joke about it.

Why do you always do nothing? – I'm shutting down my activities on russia's territory

The economic situation is evolving in a way that you'll need to return the branch – Okey

The list of brands available in russia

9. "Good russians" or "ballerinas"

One of the pleasures available in these difficult times for Ukrainians is viewing photo reports of killed occupiers and destroyed equipment. Sometimes it looks funny. It's black humor, but so are the times.

10. Ukraine's sunflowers meme

So that the occupier didn't die in vain for the Ukrainian land, he was offered, following a grandmother's advice, to put tiny seeds in his pocket so that later sunflowers would grow in the place enriched by his body. We hope that our land will be more prosperous than ever!

Well, and for your mood:…

About the indomitability of the Ukrainian people:

They don't like my language, they said. I won't be in NATO, they say.

About the deplorable state of the russian economy after the sanctions imposed on it:

Son, where are you? – Mom, I'm in captivity in Ukraine. – Buy 100 dollars.

Ukraine-russia negotiations, round 17 – russia: we demand double cheeseburger with French fries and green iPhone 13

(And about the deplorable state of affairs in russia in general):

About new Ukrainian idols:

Hi, I'm Bang Chan. – And? – Good morning, we're from Ukraine. – Vitalii Kim!!!!

About Yanukovych (we laughed at the fact that russia called the former president the "legitimate" and, it seems, seriously thought that it would be fun to put him at the top of Ukraine):

Ukrainians, we are invincible! We are moving towards our Victory Day, and do not forget to train a surprised face:

I train my surprised face for the day when russia falls apart
