You shouldn't be afraid of immediate fines, but it's better to legalize income
News about taxing informal incomes of citizens from the beginning of 2022 began to appear from early January:
"Official incomes of Ukrainians are compared to expenses, and from the undeclared difference, they will be forced to pay taxes. If a person can not confirm the origin of the funds, they will be forced to pay tax on the difference," the news on finance.ua states with reference to the MMR website.
Even "hairdressers working from home," freelancers, and anyone else who can't explain where their money came from in their bank accounts can't get in the firing line.
However, as it turned out, this news misleads readers: there will indeed be changes in taxation, control is being tightened, but no one is going to check bank accounts and compare expenses with official income yet. There is no smoke without fire, you will say, and you will be right. Rubryka looked at why everyone was talking about taxes on unofficial income and tax audits.
