Svydovets ridge: economic growth or environment preservation in the Carpathians?

Different decisions lead to different consequences. What will be the fate of the Carpathian Svydovets ridge?

On September 29, two camps were on either side of the entrance to the Supreme Court of Ukraine. On the left, there were activists of the international charity organization "Environment. People. Law"; on the right: representatives of Rakhiv and Tiachiv district state administrations, under whose, so to speak, protectorate, the disputed territory is a stumbling block for entrepreneurs and environmental activists, residents, and international charities.

The point is this: there's the Svydovets ridge in the Carpathians. Now it is a location with a dozen tourist routes, picturesque terrain, and many lakes. At least that's how the area is described on Horhany's official website. Nearby is Chorna Tysa, a typical Zakarpattia village, where a little less than 2800 people lived, according to the census, which was last conducted 20 years ago. It's before the outflow of Ukrainians to Europe to earn money. By the way, it is on the Svydovets ridge, a 40-minute drive from the Drahobrat ski resort is located, known to every fan of winter sports.
