Rubryka becomes part of the first cohort of European newsrooms to be engaged in solution journalism development

Ukrainian media outlet Rubryka has become part of the first cohort of European newsrooms to be engaged in solution journalism development

5 media from the countries of Eastern and Central Europe became the "pioneers" in Europe. Thus, solution journalism will be developed by the Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT, Magazín Reportér from the Czech Republic, the daily Slovak newspaper and website Dennik N, the publication eTrafika.net from Bosnia and Rubryka from Ukraine.

Broadcasters will collaborate to share materials and experience, help each other in creating content and promote solution journalism.

The initiator and organizer of the cohort is the media organization Transitions.

In the future, it is planned to expand the cohort from a limited circle to the whole of Europe; it is planned to connect up to 30 newsrooms to the network, which will develop constructive journalism.

Rubryka's strengthens its position as a leading media for solution journalism in Europe.

"We need to show readers and other media a different way — that it is worth focusing on problems and purposefully looking for solutions. We are planning to create more materials in various formats, to attract an audience, to create content that will also provoke changes," comments Rubryka's senior editor Maryna Smahina, who is currently in Prague studying at Transitions.online with other colleagues from the cohort.

"Achieving significant results is always easier with joint efforts, which is why, together with other publications, we have become part of a cohort that will promote and develop the approach of constructive journalism. This is also important for Ukraine because it will make Ukraine's solution stories more visible. And for Rubryka, in turn, it is important to continue to create value for our readers," Rubryka's editor-in-chief Anastasia Rudenko adds.
