Office affair: what to do if everything isn't like in the movies
For Valentine's Day, we talk about the reverse side of the medal of "cinematic" romance, personal boundaries, and the fight against harassment
The epoch-making romantic film "Office Affair" shows us a touching love story between a boss and a subordinate. But in life, things rarely turn out as nice as in the movies. Whether it's a colleague with whom you have to cross paths in the office every day and discuss work issues, carefully avoiding flirting or a customer who obsessively shows signs of attention, women often feel uncomfortable when the prism of a working relationship is superimposed with a romantic side.
"Unfortunately, there are often situations when a woman is afraid to set boundaries in a relationship with a boss, for instance. She tolerates his intrusive attention and flirtation, even if she's uncomfortable, explaining it by fear of losing a job/important position/ruining a career," psychologist Kateryna Falieieva explains.
