Dog-hunters became more active in Ukraine. Animal rights activists, veterinarians, and social media users, who regularly report cases of poisoning of pets during a walk, stated this. Rubryka's journalists analyzed the reasons for dog hunters’ activity and compiled a guide on how to protect your pet from poison and how to react when the animal feels bad together with specialists.
Recently, social media has abounded with reports of animal poisoning.
Natalia Voloshyna wrote about the case in Volodymyr-Volynskyi.
"This dog, her name is Yuta; she has done nothing wrong to anyone! She's not aggressive!
She was saved because she wasn't hungry, or they didn't calculate the amount of the drug right," the woman wrote in March this year.
The dog's owner, activist Maryna Khromykh, spoke about the poisoning of her pet Dana in February. Then the dog probably ate something during a walk and got to the hospital.
Journalist Tetiana Danylenko wrote about the variety of tools used by dog hunters.
"Maniacs are aggravated: they poison the snow in places where dogs mark territory, scatter poisoned meat or meat with needles, or broken glass. It's quite a massive campaign. This results from several acquittals to dog hunters," Tetiana Danylenko said.
