Later, the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Anton Gerashchenko, reported the first person killed under the ruins of a residential building in Kyiv.

The damaged 120-year-old building is part of Kyiv's historical buildings (built in the style of historicism with neo-Renaissance elements).

From the morning of October 17, the russian federation began to strike the Shevchenkiv district of Kyiv.

The President's Office clarified that the capital was attacked by kamikaze drones.

After the first attack by kamikaze drones, a fire broke out in a non-residential building, and several residential buildings were damaged.

After 8:00 a.m., new strikes were made in the Shevchenkiv district.
