March 14 is International Planetarium Day. This young holiday, invented by Italian astronomers in 1990, became international in 1994 when 10 more European countries began to celebrate this date. The holiday's purpose is to draw attention to such a tool for spreading astronomical knowledge in society as a planetarium.
