Metro and Kyivpastrans are in critical condition. How to solve utility service crisis
There are two possible solutions: either supporting the metro at the city budget's expense or revising the existing tariff for passenger transportation.
Kyiv Metro, a municipal enterprise in the capital that carries several million passengers daily, is currently in a crisis; the company's employees are transferred to a reduced working week, and they ask the city for support from the city budget or a revision of the passenger fare:
"We are well aware that there are problems for both doctors and teachers, in all areas, but we have so far trimmed our sails, gritted our teeth, and worked because we understand how important it is for people to go to work or the hospital," Natalia Makohon, Deputy Head of Kyiv Metro, said in a comment to Rubryka.
