How gas company helps Ukrainian military: solution from JSC Kyivoblgaz

Rubryka learned how the gas distribution company in the Kyiv region, Kyivoblgaz, supports the Ukrainian Armed Forces: this experience can be used by any company in Ukraine.

What is the problem?

The terrorist state of russia continues the war, which is the central problem. Ukrainians are united more than ever and continue to actively work for victory. Absolutely everyone, including businesses, assists the military.

Rubryka learned how the gas company in the Kyiv region, JSC Kyivoblgaz, supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine: this experience can be used by any company in Ukraine.

What is the solution?

At the beginning of the full-scale war, when hostilities took place in the Kyiv region, the russian invaders targeted the gas infrastructure to leave people without heat. But we survived it because the gas front is in the reliable hands of dedicated professionals.

Eight employees of JSC Kyivoblgaz were awarded by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine for their high professionalism and demonstrated heroism; another 27 employees were honored based on the Best Among Us project results. Risking their lives, they fixed and repaired the lines in the breaks between shelling, at night, during the occupation, welded hedgehogs, made Molotov cocktails, and delivered medicine and food to their fellow citizens.

At the beginning of this week, the russians targeted the entire country's infrastructure. This time, the electrical network was affected more; all relevant services in Ukraine worked perfectly, eliminating the consequences of large-scale missile fire. The gas service workers also stand guard over the safety of Ukrainians, working in an intensified mode.

At present, they deliver the necessary products to the front, which cover the needs of the military. So, recently the employees of JSC Kyivoblgaz returned from a trip: they handed over a thermal imager, demining knives, and camouflage nets to the first separate special-purpose brigade named after Ivan Bohun.

The gas workers who brought aid received trophies from the military, which would later become auction lots. What lots are at the auction, and what kind of auction is it? We will explain further the solutions the gas company implements for the Ukrainian military.

Solution 1: your blood can fight!

Under this slogan, Kyivovblgaz took part in an initiative—gas workers joined the national campaign of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Two hundred twenty enterprise employees of various ages and genders became blood donors for the Ukrainian military. Blood is needed daily to rescue the Ukrainian soldiers and peaceful citizens suffering from the aggression unleashed by the russian federation.

The company contacted the Kyiv Regional Blood Center, and field teams of doctors visited the office. The standard procedure involves the collection of 480 ml of blood (+20 ml for mandatory analysis to prevent disease transmission and determine the Rh factor). We calculated that they collected more than 100 liters of blood in two days!

After the company employees supported the donation campaign, Kyivoblgaz decided that the procedure in the office would be carried out every quarter until our Victory, and everyone who wanted to participate could become a donor for the military.

By the way, every donor who donates their blood receives a small compensation from the state. It is about 60 hryvnias for tasty goodies and tea for donors to regain consciousness after the blood sampling procedure. Kyivoblgaz put this money to good use: they organized tea and goodies in the office and set up a box for the received bonuses to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Our gas family is more united than ever. We got together from the first days of the war. Everyone started doing something that could be helpful. We have many real heroes—colleagues who worked in the occupation, under shelling; volunteers who have helped the front line daily; mobilized colleagues at the front. Aid to the military is not only funds and equipment. There is an urgent need to provide blood and its components to the wounded military and civilians. That's why we decided to become donors," said Vera Svidan, head of HR at Kyivoblgaz JSC.

Solution 2: warming the military at a distance

JSC Kyivoblgaz has 134 mobilized employees, so other company employees who keep the energy front in the rear are constantly helping their colleagues. Thus, as part of the Warm Our Own campaign, Kyivoblgaz" purchased and handed over sets of thermal clothing and warm clothes for all mobilized employees even before the first cold, severe weather, which usually begins after the Intercession [October 14]. JSC Kyivoblgaz also ordered 110 pot belly stoves for six military units from the innovative gas equipment company RGC Production.

But they decided to warm our defenders not only physically: the children of gas workers, who also wanted to help our army, drew postcards and wrote letters that the company also delivered to the military.

"The Warm Our Own initiative will continue until the war ends. One hundred thirty-four employees of our company have been mobilized. We have been helping them, the military on the front lines, since day one. Winter is coming. Now the boys need beanies and warm clothes—we bought them. Let's do everything possible to bring victory closer together! I'm convinced we will withstand it! We believe in the Armed Forces, and we are working!" said the acting chairman of the JSC Kyivoblgaz board, Ruslan Pysanko.

Solution 3: holding a charity auction with military trophies

Such an initiative can be held in any company. For this, you only need good friends in the Ukrainian Armed Forces who will provide you with military trophies. That's how Kyivovblgaz acquired valuable lots like flags of Ukraine with messages from the military and used anti-tank shells.

They approached the process creatively and turned to artists to paint the cartridges while the children made bracelets and boxes for trophies.

The auction will be held among the employees of JSC Kyivoblgaz, and the raised funds will be spent on the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: the company plans to purchase thermal imagers.

Solution 4: a new life of cars for military needs

We immediately warn you: the last from the list of Kyivovblgaz solutions is for those who have specialists in car recycling.

Since the war began, 118 vehicles have been transferred to the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Territorial Defense.

Rubryka saw how the cars were being converted for the needs of the military. They are repaired by experienced craftsmen—men with strong hands and eager eyes.

The work is in full swing: the engines need to be checked, sometimes the specialists must replace the fuel system, and it must be painted green.

Sometimes these solutions are pretty simple. Sometimes, they require additional time, effort, and expenses. But they can be implemented in any company.

JSC Kyivoblgaz believes that the leading solution that helps us find other helpful answers to issues is unity because it is the thing that gives us strength and faith on the way to our joint Victory.
