How they share a TV pie in Ukraine

All TV channels are divided into three types: entertainment (for example, STB, Novyi Channel, 2+2), entertainment and information (Ukraine, 1+1, Inter), and information ones, which included all closed Medvedchuk's three "buttons."

Experts have different methods of calculating TV ratings, often manipulated, but the fact is that NewsOne and 112 Ukraine have long been among the leaders in the category of "Information TV Channels." ZiK lagged far behind colleagues but also contributed.

"The leader of the information channels, Ukraine 24, the indicators of Priamyi and 112 Ukraine change with a minimal difference in one direction or another," OBOZREVATEL TV network development director Oleksandr Novytskyi explained in a comment to Rubryka.

For example, in January 2020, the National Council on Television published a rating for the previous year based on data from the BIG DATA rating agency, which showed that the first two lines in the category were 112 Ukraine and NewsOne, and ZiK was ranked eighth.
