The Global Burden of Disease estimates that at least 3.58 billion people worldwide suffer from oral diseases. The prevalence of chronic dental disease is increasing, mainly because of various risk factors, including disease, malnutrition, poor oral hygiene, stress, tobacco consumption, and alcohol use. After all, for many, a trip to the dentist is not only stress but also a blow to the wallet, because the services of dentists are not cheap.
