Oleksandr Miroshnychenko took matters into his own hands, doing two good things at once: restoring a historical monument and setting up the correct disposal of recyclable materials
Oleksandr Miroshnychenko is a researcher at the Hlukhiv National Reserve. Two years ago, Oleksander was lucky to visit Norway: "I watched as school kids pick up bottles in the street on the way to school so that they could hand the bottles over for processing in a supermarket. It amazed me that people from one of the richest countries in the world walk around collecting trash. For me, it was an incredible turning point. I came to Ukraine intending to draw attention to the correct processing of recyclable materials," the activist says.
Last winter, he began sorting the trash at home and taking it to the local school, where there were trash bins for collecting waste. But then I noticed that the cleaning stuff, whose task was to sort the garbage, was neglectful of it.
