How to remove an illegal dump: we checked the work of the state map of environmental violations
"EcoMapa" has existed for the fifth year already, and the decentralization reform has been passed: we tested in practice how the service works now.
In September 2016, the Ecomapa Interactive Map service began operating in Ukraine, where you can leave an appeal on an environmental violation and check its elimination.
To eliminate an unauthorized dump, it's necessary to mark a place on the map, attach a small description and a few photos to the application. This data is processed and sent in the form of citizens' appeals to the proper authority, which must eliminate the problem. But everything would be too simple if one statement was enough to eliminate the landfill.
Spontaneous, illegal landfills remain in their places; we can see it in the infographics: appeals that are in progress are in yellow, liquidated landfills are in green, and unfulfilled tasks are in red. There are several reasons for this, and we decided to figure out each of them. For this, we chose several locations within the same territorial community, almost all of them are in one village, Muzychi.
