Why is it even cheaper to travel to Egypt? Deputy Minister of Tourism explains

Gada Shalabi is the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt. Last week she arrived in Ukraine on an official visit, during which she gave a press conference where Rubryka recorded the most important points for you.

In particular, Shalabi said she was glad that Ukrainians were increasingly choosing Egypt as a place where they can spend their holidays, especially after part of the quarantine restrictions were lifted: in the first month of open borders, Egypt was visited by only 89 tourists and now vacationers increased to 90 thousand per month, in Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh and Marsa Alam.

"All this is the result of media campaigns, press tours for journalists, bloggers, and influencers. Tourists who returned home with pleasant impressions and started a grapevine played a big role," Gada Shalabi explained to the Rubryka correspondent.

But there's a downside. In the last month and a half, the number of tourists from Ukraine has decreased by 30-40%; this is one of the reasons for Shalabi's visit to find out why Ukrainians stopped coming.

"One of the reasons I was told was the heat in Egypt. But after the first day in Kyiv, I realized that it's much hotter here than there, and the reason isn't that. I didn't expect it to be so hot in Ukraine," Gada jokes. In the shadows today, the thermometer shows more than 30 degrees.
