Abortion ban in Poland and abortion tourism in Ukraine: what'll happen next
In Poland, abortion was banned in case of a defect in the fetus. What this will lead to and whether Ukrainian hospitals should prepare for the admission of foreign patients
In Poland, a ban on abortion due to fetal pathology came into force. It means that even if the expectant mother wittingly knows that the child will be stillborn or will live only a few minutes after birth, she cannot have an abortion; she'll have to bear the fetus until the end of pregnancy. The result of the decision was numerous protests in Poland, which have already been picked up by activists in other European countries, including Ukraine. We analyze why the Polish government makes such decisions, whether the world community can influence it, and whether Ukraine will become a place for medical tourism for Poles.
