“I Believe In Ukrainian Forces” and becoming air-defense: timeline and solutions of October 13

Today is day 232 of russia's war in Ukraine: we talk about key events at the front, in the rear, and in the world, as well as solutions that are bringing our victory closer.

KEY EVENTS

Ukrainian army's success

🇺🇦 As of yesterday, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated 91% of the territory of the Kharkiv region.

🇺🇦 The Ukrainian troops have already deoccupied 75 settlements in the Kherson region. In October, Ukraine returned 29 cities and towns under the yellow-blue flag.

📌 Ukraine's air force made 32 strikes during the past 24 hours, with confirmed damage to more than 25 areas of concentration of russia's weapons and military equipment, as well as seven anti-aircraft missile systems.

📌 In addition, during the past day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down five enemy helicopters and 19 unmanned aerial vehicles

📌 Missile troops and artillery struck:

  • Six command points,
  • Seven areas of concentration of troops, weapons, and military equipment,
  • Four ammunition warehouses.
  • positions of enemy artillery,
  • EW, and other military targets.

📌 Also, fire damage to two enemy military facilities on October 12 is confirmed in Burchak in the Zaporizhzhia region.

📌 In the Kherson region, one spot strike in the Tokarivka area immediately destroyed 150 occupiers

📌 Over the past day, Ukraine's Defense Forces units repelled the attacks of the russian occupiers in the areas of five settlements in the Donetsk region.

According to the General Staff, in certain areas of hostilities, particularly in the Donetsk region, russian units began to receive orders from the top management to stop offensive actions temporarily. The reason: desertion and unwillingness of the russian military to follow orders.

📌 British intelligence reports that in recent days the russian occupation "authorities" gave an order to prepare for evacuation from Kherson. The occupiers are likely waiting for the hostilities to spread to Kherson.

📌 Yesterday evening, Ukraine's air defense shot down russian targets in the Rivne, Cherkasy, and Zhytomyr regions.

And today, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed four missiles in Ukraine's west. The russian invaders attacked the region from the Black Sea with Kalibr cruise missiles. The air defense shot down one rocket over the Odesa region.

📌 The Ukrainian pilot successfully ejected after the fighter jet accident. On October 12, around 9 p.m., due to unspecified technical reasons, the pilot began to lose control of the jet but did everything possible to take the plane further from Vinnytsia and ejected.

Before that, the pilot destroyed five Shahed drones: three—in the south of Ukraine and two—over Vinnytsia. And the day before, he shot down two cruise missiles during a massive missile attack.

russia's crimes

Consequences of the missile attack on Mykolaiv

📌 After the first night, the russian forces massively shelled Mykolaiv. Missiles struck a five-story building. An 11-year-old boy was found under the rubble. The child was under the rubble for 6 hours. Five people died. The search is ongoing.

During today's strikes on Mykolaiv, the building of the shuttle station was destroyed. The employee who was under the rubble died

📌 russian occupying troops terrorized the Dnipropetrovsk region with Grad missiles and heavy artillery all night long. Nikopol suffered the most. A 59-year-old man was injured. He is in severe condition in the hospital.

More than 30 high-rise and private buildings, gas pipelines, and power lines were maimed in the city. russian shells hit a hospital, a kindergarten, a local history museum, a cathedral, shops, a market, a factory, and a post office

📌 Kyiv region. In the morning, the russian forces attacked one of the region's communities with kamikaze drones. The strike was on critical infrastructure near Makariv

As a result, a fire started and was extinguished. Elimination of the consequences is ongoing.

📌 As a result of the russian shelling of the Zaporizhzhia region, a woman died, and 13 people were injured.

📌 Closer to the evening, during an air alert, the russians attacked one of the military facilities in the Zolochiv district (Lviv region) with rockets; military property was destroyed, and there were no victims.

📌 On October 12, the russians killed seven civilians in Avdiivka, the Donetsk region. In addition, four more civilians killed by the russians during the occupation were found in Lyman. Another 13 people were injured yesterday.

📌 In the Kharkiv region, two workers, 21 and 28 years old, were blown up by a mine near Izium during road works. The men died.

📌 In Kherson, the russian occupiers killed Yurii Kerpatenko, the conductor of the Gileya orchestra. He refused to work in the "newly created Philharmonic." They had "conversations" with him and then came to his home and shot him through the door.

📌 More than 2,600 educational establishments have already been destroyed or damaged by russian terrorist attacks. Five hundred forty are objects of cultural heritage, cultural institutions, and religious buildings in Ukraine damaged by Russian strikes during the full-scale war since February 24. Almost 200 are destroyed or damaged temples.

Life amid war

📌 "I Believe In Ukrainian Forces": a 17-meter sculpture made of Mariupol metal from Azovstal steelworks appeared in Kyiv. The installation will stand near the Motherland until November 1. Then it will be turned into a batch of bracelets, the proceeds from the sale of which will go to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

📌 Air raid sirens will now last longer. The reason is kamikaze drones. The drone's speed is low—120–150 km per hour. It flies for a long time and can adjust the route.

📌 On the occasion of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, the Ukrposhta national post will issue a new series of Armed Forces of Ukraine stamps depicting emblems and soldiers of various troops. ⬆️

📌 Another exchange of prisoners took place, returning 20 Ukrainians to Ukraine: 14 soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, four soldiers of the Territorial defense, one national guard serviceman, and a serviceman of the Navy.

📌 Ukraine's Air Force confirmed the loss of the bomber jet. The Su-24M aircraft was returning from a mission in the east. After completing a combat mission, it was hit by a missile and returned to the base airfield. Unfortunately, he could not fly. Two pilots were ejected, but one of them died.
