Timeline of war: day 214 of russia’s war in Ukraine

Key events

Ukrainian Army successes

📌 Three enemy ammunition depots were destroyed in the Bashtanskiy district of the Mykolayiv region, in Kherson and Berislavsky districts in the Kherson region.

📌 Today, air defense units destroyed 2 drones of the occupiers in different directions.

📌 Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada and collaborator Oleksiy Zhuravka, who fled to Russia in 2015 and came to Kherson in the spring of 2022, has been liquidated. The strike of the Armed Forces hit the hotel in Kherson, where the Russians lived. The flight arrived at 05:30 in the morning, there was also a group of russian propagandists who were hit by debris, and unfortunately they remained alive.

Also, about 20 explosions were heard in Kherson, russian air defense was actively working. Local media reported that the Antoniv bridge had been hit.

russia's war crimes

📌 In Zaporizhzhia, there are massive attacks on civil infrastructure at night. Apartment buildings, educational institutions and a hospital were damaged. There are victims.

📌 Dnipropetrovsk region – more than 170 shells from "Grad" and barrel artillery in three communities of Nikopol district – Chervonogrigorivska, Nikopolska and Marganetska. Almost 7,000 people were left without electricity.

📌 Odessa was again attacked by enemy kamikaze drones. The enemy hit the administrative building in the center of the city three times. The rescue operation and fire extinguishing are ongoing. One drone was shot down by air defense forces. There are no casualties.

📌 Russian occupiers force prisoners of war to participate in pseudo-referendums. Another international crime.

And the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) suggests that russia may be preparing for the forced mobilization of Ukrainian prisoners of war, which would be a violation of the Geneva Convention.

Life amid the war

📌 According to a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, 70% of Ukrainians suffered financially due to the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, and another 33% lost their jobs. 95% of respondents indicate that they do not live comfortably on their current income.

Despite this, more than 81% of respondents have donated funds to the Armed Forces since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, 54% have given shelter or helped IDPs, and 37% have volunteered.

📌 In Bucha, 52 military families became owners of new apartments. The apartments were given to defenders and families of defenders who went to war in 2014. Unfortunately, three of them died defending Ukraine.

Solutions to win

Support of international partners

💡 The EU is going to disconnect from SWIFT the last major state bank of the Russian Federation that has access to it — Gazprombank, through which gas payments are made in Europe. The initiators are the Baltic States, Ireland and Poland. They also propose to include a ban on the purchase of liquefied gas in Russia in the new package of restrictive measures.
