Timeline of war: day 195 of russia’s war in Ukraine

Key events

Ukraine's General Staff informs:

  • The russian forces tried to advance on Soledar and Zaitseve, Donetsk region but retreated with losses.
  • The Ukrainian army struck several platoon strongholds, about five positions of anti-aircraft missile systems, and an enemy artillery battery.

Ukrainian soldiers are targeting the concentrations of russian troops and equipment, command centers, and points of russia's material and technical support in the south. It destroys russia's potential in the south and weakens the enemy's logistical capabilities, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports.

During the night of precise strikes in the Kherson region, the russian positions in Chornobaivka, Hola Prystan, and Nova Kakhovka were struck. In the afternoon, explosions were heard in Chaplynka and Tomyna Balka. In Tiahynka, the Ukrainian forces hit the ammunition warehouse. Detonation of ammunition lasted more than 2 hours.

According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian military destroyed more than 50,000 putin soldiers.

russia lost 25,000 soldiers in Ukraine and did not achieve any strategic goal: it is the assessment of russia's losses by the UK's Defense Secretary Ben Wallace. He clarified that with the killed, wounded, captured, and deserters, this figure reaches more than 80 thousand.

At night and in the morning, the russians again shelled Kharkiv and Zolochiv: three dead.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the russian occupiers shelled the Nikopol district with Grad missiles three times in the morning, resulting in a man and a woman being injured. In Nikopol, 20 high-rise buildings and 11 private buildings were damaged. One house was destroyed. Kryvyi Rih was also hit by rockets; a fire rages at the oil depot.

The Luhansk region continues to defend itself. Enemy attacks have been repulsed, and there are undoubtedly positive results: our defenders have advanced a little and gained a foothold.

Photos of the de-occupied Vysokopillia in the Kherson region have appeared. The footage shows what the russian did to the village during the 5.5 months of occupation.

Ukraine estimates the war's damage at $326 billion, Prime Minister Shmyhal said. Over $105 billion is spent on restoring the destroyed infrastructure.

Ukraine returned the bodies of another 25 of its soldiers during another transfer of bodies, the Ministry of Reintegration reported.

And it is the Kherson region. This is what the Daryivka bridge looks like now. The pontoon crossing and the warehouse have been destroyed. Corner reflectors located between the bridge and the crossing again proved useless.

Meanwhile, in occupied Berdiansk, the car of a collaborator, whom the occupiers had appointed as the city's commandant, was blown up. Gauleiter Artem Bardin is in critical condition in the hospital.

The war affects the ecology: in Odesa, the most beautiful protected lakes of Academician Zaitsev dried up due to hostilities preventing water exchange restoration with the Black Sea.

The IAEA published a report on the mission's results after visiting the Zaporizhzhia NPP: they decided that a protective zone should be created around the ZNPP, and the shelling "must stop." The situation in Ukraine was called "unprecedented."

Solutions for victory

  • This week, the European Commission will offer Ukraine another 5 billion euros in macro-financial assistance, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said. She emphasized that the situation in Ukraine still requires unwavering support from the European Union.
  • The EU also allocates €6 billion to Ukraine to finance digital projects, and they will transfer the funds within seven years.
  • In the Kherson region, most rescuers refuse to work with the occupiers.
  • In the Odesa region, 176 objects out of 666 that were damaged by russian missile strikes have already been restored. Unfortunately, 34 buildings were destroyed; they will not be restored.

  • In October, Ukraine will receive a Bayraktar TB2 UAV on behalf of the citizens of Poland, and three People's Bayraktars, for which Ukrainians raised funds, are already in Ukraine.
  • The European Commission proposed two options for limiting russian gas prices. The first option involves the introduction of a price ceiling for russian gas that will operate throughout the EU or creating a single company that will purchase gas from russia. The second is the division of EU member states into "red" and "green" zones based on the extent to which gas supply interruptions threaten them.
  • As for visas for russians, the European Commission approved a proposal to suspend the visa facilitation agreement with russia from September 12.
  • In Estonia, the court fined a woman 981 euros who transferred 40 euros to support the russian occupiers.
  • The LUN City project launched the War House charitable initiative, where you can help the residents of Irpin, Bucha, and Hostomel to raise funds to reconstruct damaged houses.
  • The entire Ukrainian people became laureates of the prestigious German award for protecting freedom of speech. The board of the M100 Media Award noted that the people of Ukraine received an award for courage and resilience in the fight against russia's invasion. No nation has demonstrated such a passionate appreciation of freedom in the past few months.

  • Ukrainians are waiting for the Ukrainian forces. The photo shows temporarily occupied Simferopol. Guerrillas in the temporarily occupied territories do not let the enemy sleep peacefully.
