Timeline: day 192 of Ukraine’s defense against russia’s aggression

Today is September 3. russia's military attack on Ukraine has been going on for 192 days. We're reporting on the current news. The article will be updated.

What about today?

Key points

Ukraine's victory in the war against the invader is only a matter of time. The Armed Forces have what the Russian military does not have – great motivation, high moral values and bravery. And also – modern weapons from our partners! That is why our soldiers will definitely drive out all the occupiers and make them answer for their crimes!

the Russians lost their logistical advantage in the south. the occupiers were unable to drag reserves to their positions. And those roads that still exist are under fire control of the Armed Forces. Natalya Humenyuk, the head of the press center of OK "Pivden", informed about this.

The head of Estonian intelligence, Margo Grosberg, believes that active hostilities in Ukraine will end in 7-9 weeks, after which the war will become static. "Then by spring we will deal with the static war that we are currently observing in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," he said. Ukraine's successes in the Kherson region and the increasingly intense offensive will reduce the occupation authorities' ability to hold a "referendum" there, Grosberg believes.

The Armed Forces took advantage of the problems in the Russian army during the counteroffensive in the south, British intelligence reported. As part of the operation, Ukrainian defenders are trying to fulfill limited operational objectives. However, they were already able to achieve the effect of surprise. "Ukrainian forces likely achieved a degree of tactical surprise by exploiting the poor logistics, management and leadership of the Russian armed forces," British intelligence said.

40% of the equipment with which the new Russian units are equipped is ineffective, since the latest equipment was used by those battalion-tactical groups that entered our territory in February-March.

In case of participation in "referendums" on the territories captured by the Russian Federation, Ukrainians face criminal liability, the Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk said. "It's all a farce and a circus. But for our citizens who will take part in this, this is actually an article of the Criminal Code. Therefore, I urge, once again urge, to evacuate everyone who can. If collaboration is proven, or, for example, participation in " referendum" or incitement to participate in the "referendum", then people can get up to 12 years with confiscation," Vereshchuk said on the air of the TV marathon. She noted that if there is no possibility to leave, then it is simply not worth going to the "referendum".

Nuclear objects

The head of the IAEA, Grossi, spoke about the visit to the Zaporizhzhya NPP:

  • The IAEA mission recorded the consequences of the attacks on the Zaporizhzhya NPP, noting that they led to a "violation of the physical integrity" of the power plant's facilities;
  • Despite the shelling, the nuclear power plant is operating and is in "relatively good condition." Grossi also added that the station is controlled by the Russian occupation forces;
  • The agency decided to organize a permanent presence at the ZNPP. This time there will be two representatives. They will remain until the "stabilization of the situation";
  • Grossi said the military stationed at the station did not approach the mission. He also added that he wanted to talk with them, but they were not allowed;
  • Ukrainian workers continue to work with Russian workers: "It's not ideal, it's a tense situation."
  • The Zaporizhzhia NPP was again disconnected from the network and one of the operating reactors was stopped, the IAEA reported this evening. One reactor is still operating and producing electricity.
