  • The enemy is trying to resume the offensive in the direction of Donetsk–Pisky in the Avdiivka direction; the fighting continues. The enemy led an offensive in the directions Mineralne–Avdiivka and Spartak–Avdiivka. They had no luck, suffered losses, and left.

The Verkhovna Rada plans to extend the term of martial law, People's Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak said. This may happen at the next plenary meeting.

Nuclear facilities

In Canada, the resident of Ternopil and the UHelpUkraine public organization organized a fundraiser for the Bayraktar TB2 attack drone for the Ukrainian army.

Ukraine will receive $4.5 billion from the World Bank and another $89 million from the United States.

  • Funds from the World Bank will be used for the payment of pensions and separate social assistance programs, in particular for the payment of housing and communal services, support for low-income families, children with disabilities, IDPs, as well as for the payment of medical services under the medical guarantee program, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine noted.
  • As for the financial assistance from the USA, the money will go to the training of sappers who will be engaged in demining the territories.

The co-founder of the Swedish Amnesty International, Per Wästberg, is leaving the organization. He does not agree with the Amnesty report, which states that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are endangering civilians in an attempt to repel the russian invaders.

The Polish authorities announced that it was the end of the decommunization of Malbork, which began in 1989. The decision to dismantle the Red Army memorial in Poland was made back in February after russia's attack started on Ukraine. However, this monument was entered into the voivodeship register and, therefore, could be liquidated only by the decision of the voivodeship authorities.

Sanctions against the aggressor!

Sanctions imposed by the West against Moscow are "crippling" the russian economy, a team of experts from the Chief Executive Leadership Institute (СELI) at Yale University concluded, publishing the first scientific work on the consequences of anti-russian sanctions. Scholars write that the lack of information from the russian public about the fatal consequences of sanctions is explained by successful russian propaganda. "The Kremlin is revealing less and fewer data about the state of its economy," says the CELI report.

A ban on russian coal's purchase, import, or transit transportation came into effect in the European Union on August 10. The European Union found a replacement for russian coal in Colombia and Australia. Imports of this raw material to the EU from Colombia quadrupled to 1.2 million tons in June. Australian coal supplies reached 1.1 million tons, the highest in history.
