Timeline: day 104 of Ukraine's defense against russia's aggression

Today is June 7. russia's military attack on Ukraine has been going on for 104 days. We're reporting on the current news. The article will be updated.

What about today?

Key points

It seems that russia's war in Ukraine has been going on for an eternity. Daily air raid sirens and reports from the fronts are becoming commonplace. Millions of refugees and people in the occupation face exhausting challenges that haven't been seen in a peaceful life, and doctors and volunteers are burning out. In this situation, the main thing is "not to get tired" because that's what the enemy is counting on. "There are only two forces in the world: the sword and the spirit. The spirit always wins over the sword in the long run," the Ukrainian Navy said.

Our soldiers bring Ukraine closer to Victory every day as we also have "swords." Ukrainian helicopters struck at clusters of enemy forces in the Kherson region, and planes fired at ammunition depots in the Mykolaiv region. The enemy lost more than 20 people and up to 10 units of military equipment, Ukraine's General Staff said in a morning statement.

Ukrainian Joint Forces defenders repulsed ten enemy attacks in one day. Fighting is still going on at two locations. The Joint Forces service members destroyed:

  • one tank;
  • three artillery systems;
  • two armored combat vehicles;
  • one motor vehicle;
  • two ammunition warehouses.

Air defense units shot down two Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles in the skies of the Ukrainian Donbas.

During the past 24 hours, in the Zaporizhzhia direction, our soldiers destroyed:

  • 14 soldiers, eight wounded;
  • five Grad multiple rocket launchers;
  • two armored combat vehicles;
  • four automotive equipment;
  • one Orlan 10 UAV.

One tank and an armored combat vehicle were seized.

For the West not to "get tired" of the war, not to diminish the attention to Ukraine and our struggle for freedom, "everyone should continue to talk about what's happening. Distribute information. Support our needs. The more is said about Ukraine in the world, the sooner we'll be able to end the war and liberate our land," said President Zelensky in his daily address.

The Ukrainian military received Pinzgauer armored vehicles. They were bought anonymously with partners by a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman with the call sign "Hora." Two ATVs are already serving in the combat brigades of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and six more have been sent to other types of troops. Pinzgauer 2009 is a multi-purpose military jeep that can work as tractors, medical vehicles, deep reconnaissance, support vehicles, and communication vehicles. One vehicle saves dozens of lives!

Britain provides lawyers and police to Ukraine to support the investigation of russian war crimes. The British government has allocated a package of assistance to investigate the occupiers' crimes in Ukraine, British Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab said. What's in the new support package:

Greece will hand over about 100 IFV-1 units to Ukraine when the German Marder infantry fighting vehicles promised by Germany arrive in Greece. A spokesman for the Greek government stated this. The reason for this position is the conflict between Greece and Turkey. Ankara, in particular, is infringing on some Greek islands. Therefore, the Armed Forces are in a state of combat readiness. In May, Athens announced that it would supply arms to Ukraine only if Germany replaced it immediately.

Propaganda, first, people will wait. The occupiers are filming joyful stories about how 300 Mariupol residents received humanitarian aid from St. Petersburg. As many as 300! That is, 0.25% of the current population.

On June 5, the occupying forces declared the city "part of the Belgorod Oblast." The town has been closed for entry and exit to the territory controlled by Ukraine since May 8; the occupiers prohibit the import of food and medicine. People are disappearing in the city, there are problems with water and electricity supply, and there is almost no mobile service. The Balaklia residents, who have become hostages of the occupiers, are looking for ways to earn at least some money to survive. And they're afraid that because of this, they may be considered collaborators. But the russians leave them no choice.

The occupiers left almost all the checkpoints in the Melitopol district, fearing an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Mayor Ivan Fedorov said. However, according to ruscist media, the occupiers will open centers for issuing russian passports in Berdiansk, Enerhodar, and other cities in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Currently, no people are willing to obtain russian citizenship in the Kherson region. Agitation and bribery don't help the occupiers. Kherson residents are offered 10,000 rubles for citizenship and support for the referendum, but the local population is reluctant to engage in such provocations.

Meanwhile, collaborator Stremousov continues to pedal the referendum topic. "We will hold a referendum in the Kherson region on the region's joining the russian federation," he repeated. Although on Saturday, June 4, Stremousov said that holding a referendum was not on the agenda.
