Explosion in Kyiv: Russian drone debris falls on school's territory in Desnianskyi district

On the morning of March 18, Kyiv experienced air raid activity marked by sounds resembling explosions. Air defense systems were actively engaged, and in the Desniansky district, debris from an enemy drone landed on school grounds.
Kyiv's mayor, Vitalii Klychko, and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, announced this.
Reports indicate that explosions were heard in the capital at approximately 9:14 a.m.
Initially, authorities did not disclose the cause of the explosions. Meanwhile, an air raid alert was issued in the capital amid threats posed by an unidentified drone.
According to the Air Force, the enemy drone was moving from the north through the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. As of 09:21 a.m., the air raid alarm was declared in Kyiv.
Later, Klychko reported that, according to preliminary information, fragments were recorded falling on the territory of a school in the Desniansky district of the capital. Emergency services are heading to the scene.
According to Tkachenko, a fire broke out in an open area. Services are working at the scene.
Information on damage and casualties is being clarified. However, the Kyiv City Military Administration assured that school students were in shelter during the alarm.
