Russian attacks result in two dead and 28 wounded in Kryvyi Rih, one dead in Sumy, and high-rise hit in Kharkiv

The missile strike by Russian forces on Kryvyi Rih has resulted in the death of two individuals and injuries to 28 others, including a child. In Sumy, an enemy UAV strike ignited a warehouse fire, claiming one life. Meanwhile, in Kharkiv, a Russian drone attack overnight caused damage to a high-rise building, prompting the evacuation of its residents.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Serhii Lysak, the mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov, and the head of Sumy Artem Kobzar reported this.

Kryvyi Rih

As reported, late in the evening, March 5, Russian troops struck Kryvyi Rih with missiles. A direct hit on a civilian infrastructure facility was reported.

"Rocket attack on Kryvyi Rih ignites fire and damages civilian infrastructure; potential presence of individuals under the rubble being investigated," the message said.

Serhii Lysak reported that two victims, a 43-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman, are in serious condition and have been hospitalized.

Additionally, Serhii Lysak announced that a 53-year-old man has died as a result of the attack.

"There may still be people under the rubble," the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration said.

Later, the SES clarified that the Russian missile hit a five-story hotel, causing a fire.

Fourteen people were rescued. The staircase in the building was destroyed, and there may be people under the rubble.

A rescue operation is underway, people are being evacuated from the 3rd and 4th floors.

Later, the head of the regional military administration reported that there are already 14 victims in Kryvyi Rih. Half of them are in serious condition, the rest are in moderate condition.

Sumy

A fire broke out in Sumy as a result of a Russian strike drone hitting a warehouse.

"Unfortunately, a Shahed drone has struck one of the warehouses," Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar said.

All services are working at the scene.

A person died as a result of an enemy drone strike on a warehouse in Sumy.

"On the night of Thursday, March 6, an enemy UAV hit a warehouse. A fire broke out at the site of the strike. Previously, one person died," the Sumy City Council reported on Facebook.

All services are working, the city council added.

Kharkiv

The city of Kharkiv also suffered another air attack by the Russian occupiers on the night of March 6. The enemy struck a high-rise building.

At approximately 3:50 a.m. in Kharkiv, a powerful explosion was heard.

Earlier, the Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces reported spotting an enemy drone in the Kharkiv area and urged residents to take shelter.

"Preliminary reports indicate that an enemy UAV "Shahed" has struck a high-rise building in the Saltivskyi district," the mayor's publication read at four in the morning.

He added that the details and consequences of the enemy drone attack on the city are being clarified.

Later, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that information had been confirmed "about a hit by an enemy drone on a residential high-rise building." He added that "the strike fell on the technical floor."

According to the mayor, the roof and technical floor of the high-rise building were damaged, and "there was a small fire."

The elevator shaft was also destroyed, partially, as were the technical floor and the facade of the slabs between the 9th and the technical floors.

"The glazing in adjacent buildings and eight cars was damaged. People are being evacuated from the entrance of the high-rise building," Terekhov said.

The mayor also reported that there were two victims, and "both have an acute stress reaction."

"All relevant services and volunteers are working at the scene," the mayor informed.

At the same time, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Synehubov said that one woman was injured in Kharkiv due to a hostile attack and has an acute stress reaction.

"At about 3:50 a.m., as a result of the falling debris of the Geran UAV, the roof, elevator shaft, partially the technical floor and the facade of an apartment building in Kharkiv were damaged. A fire broke out," he said.

The official added that the following were damaged:

  • eight cars,
  • glass windows in 9 apartment buildings and a children's educational institution nearby.

"One woman suffered an acute stress reaction due to the incident. The fire has since been extinguished," the statement of the head of the regional military administration reads.

UPD! In Kryvyi Rih, a Russian missile strike on a hotel on the evening of March 5 killed 4 people and injured 31 others. In Kharkiv, a hostile air attack also carried out that night injured one person.

On the night of March 5, Russian invaders used 181 drones against Ukraine. Air defense forces operated in 10 regions of the country: 115 UAVs were destroyed, another 55 drones did not reach the target. The enemy also struck with ballistic missiles.
