Russian strike on high-rise building leaves three dead in Sumy region

Late in the evening of February 6, Russian troops attacked the village of Myropillia in the Sumy region.
The Prosecutor General's Office reported this.
At about 11:20 p.m. on February 6, the Russians dropped, according to preliminary information, three guided aerial bombs on a two-story apartment building in the village of Myropillia, Sumy region.

The attack killed three people; their bodies were recovered from the rubble.
"The enemy attack killed three people – the bodies of a 42-year-old and a 57-year-old man were recovered from the rubble, the identity of another deceased is being established," the report says.
The Sumy Regional Military Administration noted that search and rescue operations are ongoing. It is likely that people are still under the rubble.

In total, as a result of this shelling, the following were damaged:
- two private houses,
- a multi-apartment residential building was destroyed.
A pre-trial investigation is currently underway into the fact of committing war crimes, which caused the death of people (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

In total, on the night of February 7 and in the morning, the Russians shelled border areas and settlements of the Sumy region 22 times. 26 explosions were recorded. The following communities were shelled:
- Khotinska,
- Myropilska,
- Krasnopilska,
- Velykopysarivska.
On the night of February 7, Russian troops once again attacked Ukraine with drones. The invaders launched 112 drones over Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed 81 drones, and another 31 enemy UAVs were lost in location.
According to the Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces, the enemy attack affected the Sumy, Kyiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
In the Sumy region, air defense forces destroyed 13 Russian Shahed UAVs on February 7.
Air defense systems were active in Kyiv on the evening of February 6, but there were no reported attack consequences in the capital.
In addition, on the night of February 7, Russian troops attacked the Kyiv region with strike drones. As a result of the enemy attack, a fire broke out.
Also, on February 7, the press service of NPC Ukrenergo reported that emergency power outages were being introduced in eight regions of the country due to Russian attacks on the energy sector.
The restrictions apply to the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Zaporizhzhia regions and partially to Cherkasy.
On the night of February 6, the Russian troops launched 77 attack drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles into the territory of Ukraine. The Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces shot down 56 enemy drones, and 18 UAVs were lost in location.
