On January 15-17, adaptive clubs were opened in Lviv, Volyn, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. These centers won the "Time to Act, Unrestrained" grant competition.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports reports this.

What is the solution?

These adaptive clubs, which won the "Time to Act, Unrestrained" grant competition, will become centers for restoring physical and mental health for military personnel, veterans, and people with disabilities.

Creating adaptive clubs is an opportunity for every veteran:

  • to restore physical activity,
  • find support,
  • feel their own strength,
  • realize their potential.

How does it work?

To develop barrier-free access, a mobile lift has been installed in the Novoyavoriv club for safe swimming for people in wheelchairs.

In Kolomyia, the trainer is veteran Yurii Furyk, who lost his leg in the battles for Soledar. His journey exemplifies the power of sport in recovering from serious injuries.

"After losing a limb, I was in a difficult state. But it was sports that helped me recover physically and mentally. Now I will be happy to help other veterans recover," Yurii notes.

For reference:

The "Time to Act, Unrestrained" project is carried out by the Charitable Foundation "MHP — Hromadi" in collaboration with the State Institution "Sport for All." It's part of the flagship initiative by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine called "Active Parks: Barrier-Free Leisure Locations," which is aligned with the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine, championed by First Lady Olena Zelenska.

It should be noted that a modern rehabilitation department has been put into operation at the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise "Burshtyn Central City Hospital of the Burshtyn City Council." UAH 5.5 million was allocated for its arrangement from the Burshtyn City Council budget. The MoveUkraine Charitable Foundation completed the repair and purchased the necessary rehabilitation equipment.

A new RECOVERY rehabilitation center has been put into operation based on the medical institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv. This is the 14th center of the national network created to support the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine.

The largest rehabilitation center for military personnel in Ukraine has also been launched in Chernivtsi. The newest department was based at the Chernivtsi Regional Hospital for War Veterans.
