The district will increase the number of areas where grass will not be mowed to preserve the territories' natural appearance. In addition, the city will significantly increase the planting of perennial herbs on transport distribution lanes and in green areas.

Annual flowers and plants will gradually cease to be planted. Instead, perennials will be grown, namely cereals and meadow herbs. They require less care and look aesthetically pleasing throughout the year.
Back in December 2022, the Kyiv City State Administration supported the public initiative and idea of landscape designer Hanna Halahan to introduce sustainable modern technology into urban landscaping.
At that time, it was planned to create 64 decorative meadows in Kyiv: they should be sown in each district.
By May 2023, in an effort to adopt European practices for biodiversity protection, Kyiv planned to establish 25 decorative meadows and cease grass mowing in designated experimental areas.

In 2024, Kyiv continued the experiment with decorative meadows and the abandonment of grass mowing.
After all, decorative meadows:
- help retain water in the soil,
- improve air quality in the city,
- increase biodiversity,
- are undemanding to care for, in particular, they only need mowing once a year.
