In London, Ukrainian world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk was honored at The Ring magazine awards ceremony, where he received three prestigious awards for 2024.
The event was reported by Tribuna.
On January 11, the first major ceremony of The Ring Awards 2024 took place in London. In previous years, the magazine presented its results through printed or online publications. However, this year marked a significant change, with a grand event featuring numerous boxing stars and an impressive atmosphere.
Boxers arrived solemnly at the event, with some even engaging in staredowns and hinting at potential future fights. Among the attendees was a Ukrainian boxer who made history as the undisputed world heavyweight champion. This marked the first-ever fight for the undisputed heavyweight title in the four-belt era. Oleksandr Usyk successfully defended his WBA, WBO, and IBF championship belts and aimed to claim the WBC title from Tyson Fury.
