Putin challenges Western powers to shelling duel to test "invulnerable Oreshnik" missile on Kyiv
Russian Federation's dictator, Vladimir Putin, has proposed that Western nations engage in a "high-tech duel" by bombarding Ukraine's capital city.
The head of the Kremlin said this during a "live question and answer session."
Putin said there was no chance of shooting down the Russian Oreshnik missiles.
"And those Western experts who think so, let them suggest that we and those in the West who pay them for their analysis conduct a technological experiment. Let's say a high-tech duel of the 21st century.
Let them determine an object to hit, let's say, in Kyiv. Concentrate all their air defense and missile defense forces there, and we will strike there with Oreshnik and see what happens," the Russian dictator said.
The hosts also asked him how Russia "manages to stay afloat" when "the whole world has gone crazy, the conflict potential in all parts of the world is practically going off the scale, and the world economy is in a difficult situation."
"You know when everything is calm, measured, stable; we are bored – stagnation. We want to get some moving. As soon as the moving starts, everything whistles at our temples – and bullets, unfortunately, bullets are everywhere now – we are so scared. Horror-horror. Well, horror. But not horror-horror-horror. The economy measures everything," Putin said.
He stated that the situation in the Russian economy is "generally stable and reliable." He said that over the past two years, GDP growth in Russia has reached 8%, which is more than in the US and the "eurozone."
For reference:
On the morning of November 21, the enemy launched an intercontinental ballistic missile, a Kinzhal, and seven Kh-101 cruise missiles over Dnipro, while anti-aircraft missile units destroyed six Kh-101 missiles. The enterprise and the Rehabilitation Center for People with Disabilities were damaged.
In the evening of the same day, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that the latest hypersonic medium-range Oreshnik missile allegedly carried out the strike.
At the same time, analysts at the Institute for the Study of War believe that the Russian dictator and the Russian military leadership's praise of the Oreshnik missile is more an element of propaganda than a demonstration of real military power.
In turn, Ukraine's intelligence stated that the invaders struck Dnipro using a ballistic missile, probably from the Kedr missile complex. The Russian Federation may have up to 10 units of the new ballistic missile.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that threats by Russian President Vladimir Putin to strike with the Oreshnik missile are aimed at disrupting the peace efforts of the newly elected US President Donald Trump.
