United to win: Rubryka readers from Canada light up trenches with homemade candles for Ukrainian soldiers
Rubryka readers from Canada have brought light to the trenches for Ukrainian soldiers with their homemade candles. One unit of the Azov brigade in the Donetsk region has already received a box of these candles. These trench candles provide heat for water and food and some warmth and light for the dugouts.
It all began with a letter to Rubryka, in which a reader from Canada sought guidance on how she could utilize her candle-making skills to support the Ukrainian military.
"I make decorative candles from Louisiana wax, but I am ready to melt everything I have made to help the Ukrainian army. I can't sew or knit, but I can make candles! It is essential for me to help somehow physically," Mary Shelton said in the letter.
Rubryka's commercial director, Anastasiia Kurylenko, stepped up and offered to assist by providing the reader with our information on trench candles and supplementary tutorials. In the end, Ms. Mary rallied her colleagues, who also created decorative candles and worked together to make trench candles for the Ukrainian military.
"Spread the word about Rubryka to your English-speaking friends. The solutions-oriented journalism from Ukraine will likely motivate them to make meaningful contributions, big or small."
Meanwhile, Rubryka is also receiving another batch of knitted items from craftswomen in the USA who had previously donated their products to Rubryka's team for distribution to those in need.
For reference:
Additionally, Rubryka shared information about the "Soldier's Kitchen," a group of volunteers dedicated to aiding soldiers in camouflaging themselves during battle. For over two years, the organization's volunteers have been producing smoke bombs for Ukraine's military. These basic yet impactful tools allow soldiers to momentarily vanish from the enemy's sight, enabling them to retrieve the injured, execute tactical movements, and shield their positions from targeted attacks.
It should be noted that KIDDISVIT is developing the "Chevrons of Heroes" project. 100% of the profit will be transferred to protecting the military.
