Russia attacks residential area of Sumy, killing two and injuring 12
On the night of November 22, Russian soldiers launched an attack on a residential area in Sumy using Shahed strike drones. Tragically, at least two civilians lost their lives during the air raid.
The Sumy Regional Military Administration and the city mayor Artem Kobzar reported that.
The enemy initiated another drone attack last night, targeting the Sumy region first.
Several powerful explosions were heard during the air raid in Sumy.
According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Russian terrorists attacked a residential neighborhood in the city of Sumy with Shahed drones that night.
"According to the preliminary data, some victims receive necessary assistance while emergency and rescue operations are also being conducted. The consequences of the Russian attack are currently being assessed," the administration reported.

"During the air raid, several powerful explosions were heard in the city. Unfortunately, one person has already died," the mayor said.
The State Emergency Service, firefighters, and ambulances are working at the scene of the attack.
Later, Artem Kobzar reported a second victim of the shelling – a person died at a different location of the attack.

"The enemy struck a residential area of the regional center using a Shahed UAV," the regional military administration's report reads.
Due to the enemy's shelling of Sumy, several buildings and cars were damaged.
In addition to the two fatalities, there is also confirmation of at least 12 injuries.
Currently, emergency and rescue operations are underway at the site of the strike.

According to the regional military administration, over the past 24 hours, on November 21, Russian troops shelled border areas and settlements of the Sumy region 9 times.
23 explosions were recorded in the region.
The communities of Khotinska, Bilopolska, Krasnopolska, and Lebedynska were also targeted with shelling. In addition, the Lebedynska community was struck by a rocket. The shelling caused damage to:
- four privately owned homes,
- a commercial building,
- and a school.
It should be noted that the Russian army once again launched an attack on the city of Sumy on the evening of Sunday, November 17. A high-rise building was hit in the strike. As a result, ten people lost their lives, including two children, and 52 casualties have been reported.
Furthermore, on November 18, another explosion was reported near Sumy City, followed by a power outage in the area. Before this, there were reports of an enemy rocket heading towards the regional center.
On the evening of November 3, a series of explosions also sounded in Sumy.
